study is creating a greater awareness of Christ's plan and His love
for me. That awareness is causing me to desire to follow
him and to deepen my relationship with Him. The second
area of impact this study is having is on my selfish attitude. It
is changing my attitude from being 'it's all about me' to 'it's

burden and is helping me to be more responsive and less

Slowly as the truths were revealed by the Lord I learned some very valuable lessons. First, my significance as a person is found in Christ and Christ alone and what He did for me. "Through this process, I am developing relationships with a group of men and learning to accept, love, and give of myself to them. I'm an independent type, who has learned to survive, if not thrive, alone onan island. I desire meaningful relationships with other men, but resist letting my guard down and allowing others to see who I really am. This experience provides me with an opportunity and environment where I can develop meaningful, open relationships with other men, and let them ge. I can let them to know the real me as I am learning to trust God for my security and significance." |

more now of the illusions that had enticed and captured me
and were destroying me and my relationship with others, especially
my wife and kids. I am still tempted by these illusions but am growing
stronger as my faith continues to grow stronger. I also now realize
that the pain in my life is a blessing. I now accept the
challenges and trials as blessings because I know the end result
is always for my good. Whether a spider bite, a rough day at work,
or a major catastrophe, I always knew Romans 8:28, but now I am
beginning to act lke I am confident that God is engineering
all things for good." |
